Rema's (Singer) Career:

Rema began his singing career by performing with Alpha P at the Christ of Mercy church, where he was a member of the "Rap Nation" programme, which taught young people how to rap for the audience. When he was just 14 years old, the church members gave him a phone, which he used to download the beats so he could practise his singing and rapping. He gained notoriety in February 2018 after posting a video of himself on Instagram freestyling to the beat of the song "Gucci Gang" by afro-pop artist D'Prince. It got D'Prince's notice, who invited him to Lagos and welcomed him into the Mavin Records clan.

He was the first artist signed by Jonzing World, the first imprint record company under Marvin Records, after a year of training. His debut EP, "Rema," which was released in 2019, became an instant sensation in Nigeria. Later, "Iron Man" was selected as his lead single. His song "Dumebi" became a worldwide smash that year. He issued Rave & Roses, his self-titled debut album, in 2022.

Despite the fact that ten of his tracks from the album peaked at number one on the US Billboard Afrobeats Chart, his single "Calm Down," which features a sample from the song "So Fine" by fellow Nigerian musician Crayon, became popular five months after it was formally released. Additionally, he collaborated with Selena Gomez on a remix of his song "Calm Down" that was released on August 26, 2022. It was an instant hit and started at number 91 on the Billboard Hot 100.
