Tushar Kalia started his dance career under the guidance and direction of Mr. Santosh Nair, Creative Director of 'Sadhya Unit of Performing Arts'. he is trained under Canadian choreographer, Brandi Leary for aerial technique dance. Tushar worked for a firm that planned performances all over the world prior to becoming a choreographer in Bollywood. Tushar shot to real fame when he appeared in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 6 as a choreographer along with actress Ekta Kaul, but was evicted within the first few weeks of the reality show. He later made a comeback in the same season as a wildcard entry alongside actress Sana Saeed.
He appeared in the 7th season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa along with dancer Shakti Mohan. Tushar gained his start in Bollywood after appearing on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and choreographed the song "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil" for Karan Johar.
