Joseph Vijay's Career: 

Vijay attended Fathima Matriculation Higher Secondary School before transferring to Ballok Matriculation Higher Secondary School to finish his education. Following graduating from high school, Vijay enrolled at Loyola College to pursue a degree in Visual Communications. He quit his studies nonetheless since he wanted to concentrate more on his acting profession. He made his professional debut as a child artist at the age of 10 with his father S. A. Chandrasekhar's 1984 film Vetri.

The next year, he began working as a child artist in films like Kudumbam (1984), Vasanth Ragam (1986), Sattam Oru Vilayattu (1987), and Ithu Angle Neethi (1988). He once again participated as a kid artist in Rajinikanth's 1985 movie Naan Sigappu Manithan. In 1992's Naalaiya Theerpu, he made his acting debut. Vikraman, the director of his 1996 film Poove Unakkaga, gave Vijay his big break and established him as a celebrity.

After that, in 2002, Vijay co-starred with Priyanka Chopra in the movie Thamizhan. Prior to entering Bollywood and emerging as one of the main actresses, Priyanka made her acting debut with this. His 2004 film Ghilli made history as the first Tamil movie to gross more than $500 million domestically. Pokkiri, starring Vijay and directed by Prabhu Deva, was the third-highest-grossing movie of 2007 and the first Tamil movie to play in Kerala theatres for a complete 100 days.

One of the highest-grossing Tamil films of 2009 was his, Vettakaran. He appeared in the 2011 Malayalam-to-Tamil adaptation of the movie Bodyguard, Kaavalan, which was released to positive reviews at the box office and afterwards screened in China at the Shanghai International Film Festival.

He had an appearance in the Tamil version of "3 Idiots," Nanban, in 2012, playing the part of "Rancho," which was originally performed by Aamir Khan. After Sivaji (2007) and Enthiran (2010), Vijay's subsequent film, Thuppakki (2012), became the third Tamil film to reach the 1 billion club. The year 2017 saw Mersal earn Vijay's greatest career earnings.
