Mohit Lalwani was interested in music since childhood, his mother used to teach him music. Seeing his interest in music, his mother sent Mohit to Guru Ustad Aftab Ahmed Khan to take music lessons and from there Mohit Lalwani learned music very well. After learning music from there, Mohit participated in the singing TV reality show "Indian Idol 4" as a contestant, Mohit's career started with the same show. During that show audition, he had won the hearts of all the judges sitting there with his voice, and he was also selected.

Mohit Lalwani remained in that show till the end but he could not become the winner of that show. Later he also became a part of the Rooh band, after this show Mohit gained a lot of popularity, everyone started knowing him and everyone liked his voice.
