Shreya Dhanwanthary started her career with modeling, she participated in Femina Miss India South contest in 2008 and she was also the first winner of that pageant. After that, she represented Femina Miss India as a winner in 2008, she gained a lot of popularity in modeling. After modeling, Shreya started working in Telugu films like Josh and Sneha Geetam, and made a new identity for herself.
