Praggnanandhaa started playing chess from his childhood because his sister R. Vaishali is also a chess grandmaster, seeing her Praggnanandhaa also loved playing chess. Praggnanandhaa participated in the "World Youth Chess Championship Under-8" tournament in 2013 in which he was the winner and got the title of FIDE Master.
