    Praggnanandhaa started playing chess from his childhood because his sister R. Vaishali is also a chess grandmaster, seeing her Praggnanandhaa also loved playing chess. After which he started participating in competitions, he started his chess career at the age of 8. Praggnanandhaa participated in the "World Youth Chess Championship Under-8" tournament in 2013 in which he was the winner and got the title of FIDE Master. When he was only 10 years old, he then competed in the "World Youth Chess Championship Under-10" in 2015 and won that event as well. 

    Then in 2016, at the age of 11, Praggnanandhaa became the International Chess Master, after that he participated in the "World Junior Chess Championship" in November 2017, in which he finished fourth with 8 points. Then Praggnanandhaa participated in "Heraklion Fischer Memorial GM Norm Tournament" in Greece on 17th April 2018 in which he achieved 2nd Norm, then on 23rd June 2018 Praggnanandhaa defeated chess player Luca Moroni in Gredine Open in Urtizzi, Italy.
